On this auspicious occasion of the Birth Anniversary of His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk, ARDC Bajo joins the nation in offering our heartfelt prayers for His Majesty’s continued good health and long life.
To commemorate the occasion, ARDC Bajo, alongside the Dzongkhag Administration and other institutions, participated in the celebrations held at Bajothang Higher Secondary School.
As part of the celebration, ARDC Bajo showcased its latest agricultural innovations, including new crop varieties such as black rice and Bajo Kaap III, along with live samples of macadamia nuts and almonds. A selection of citrus fruits—including blood red oranges, kumquats, and pomelos—was also displayed, allowing participants to taste and appreciate their unique flavors.
To promote Climate-Smart Technologies, the center exhibited essential agricultural advancements such as potting mixtures and bokashi. A live demonstration on producing rice husk biochar was conducted, highlighting its benefits for sustainable farming.
In an effort to raise awareness about quinoa consumption, ARDC Bajo introduced a range of quinoa-based products, including quinoa porridge, quinoa desi, and quinoa cake. Visitors had the opportunity to sample these nutritious foods, helping them better understand the versatility of this superfood.
The event witnessed an overwhelming response, with more than 200 participants visiting ARDC Bajo’s stall to explore and experience the showcased innovations.
On this special occasion, ARDC Bajo reaffirms its commitment to advancing Bhutan’s agricultural sector while paying tribute to the visionary leadership of His Majesty the King.
