The construction of farm pond initiated by Program Director for the interest of having lots of advantages to ARDC-Bajo. The aim of having the natural reservoir pond is to irrigate the agriclture field below and replace the HDPE sintex tank in future. The pond is especially constructed with the help of ESP working under ARDC Bajo using bentonite clay soil. This technology is first time in Bhutan. The bentonite clay soil is mixed with the soil and laid in base and side of embankment to make the layer impermeable so that the seepage is control. The pond is constructed over the area of 255 m sq. The capacity of pond is 100 m cube.
