The Plant Protection Unit of the Agriculture Research and Development Center (ARDC) Bajo, in collaboration with the National Citrus Repository Center, conducted a two-day training and awareness program on citrus fruit fly management in Gozhi Gewog, Dagana, and Mendrelgang Gewog, Tsirang. The program was funded by the Royal Government of Bhutan.
Participants from both Dzongkhags included Dzongkhag Agriculture Officers, Extension Supervisors, and 130 farmers. The campaign focused on educating farmers on effective citrus fruit fly management, promoting the safe and efficient use of pesticides, and enhancing the sustainability and productivity of citrus cultivation in Bhutan. Held from 28th September to 2nd October 2024, the initiative also includes ongoing monitoring to ensure the successful implementation of the training.
