1.The program will operate within the broad mandates of ARDC Bajo.

2.Provide leadership in co-ordination and planning of field crop research and development.

3.Implement, monitor and reporting of national field crops research program.

4.Collect, maintain and characterize popular local crops varieties as working samples.

5.Responsible for breeder seeds production, maintenance and supply to NSC of the released crops varieties.

6.Prepare short, medium and long-term research plans and programs for the Field crops commodity in line with the department’s research strategies and goals.

7.On farm validation, demonstration, promotion and dissemination of improved technologies through participatory approaches.

8.Provide technical support and advisory services to other ARDCs and Dzongkhags.

9.Prepare and submit annual work plan, budget proposal, and report.
