The two days RNR Extension Conference for West & West-Central Region with the theme of “Knowing more from the Grassroots” was graced by the Hon’ble Agriculture Minister on 4th March, 2019 at the College of Natural Resources, Lobesa . In the opening remarks, Hon’ble Minister reiterated the importance of extension officers’ role to attaining the Ministry’s vision of food and nutrition security through commercialization the agriculture and livestock production. The conference was attended by Geog Agriculture and Livestock officials from 8 Dzongkhags of West and West-central regions.  The conference was revived after almost 10 years considering that the extension officials are key person linked with the farming communities and it is imperative to learn the field realities in the form of success stories. The conference also provide a platform to share knowledge and experiences among the participants which can be replicated in other areas if appropriate. The conference was chaired by Hon’ble Dasho Secretary, MoAF and deliberated on various success stories, field issues and constraints related to agriculture and livestock development to attain the goal of 12th FYP.
